Reflections on 'The 5 Dysfunctions' Workshop
First off, trust – they hammered home how insanely important it is. Like, if you don't have trust among team members, you're basically building on a shaky foundation. It got me thinking about how I can be more open and real with my team. You know, letting the guard down and being authentic.
Then there's the idea that conflict isn't necessarily a bad thing. I mean, we all hate disagreements, right? But this workshop flipped that idea. They said conflict, the healthy kind, where everyone's got their say, can actually lead to kickass decisions. I'm seeing my fear of clashes in a new light now – they're like a workout for better teamwork.
Commitment was another bomb-drop. They said it's not enough to nod along in a meeting and then secretly not be on board. Like, you gotta voice your opinions, but once the decision's made, you're all in. Made me reflect on those times when I've kinda held back after not getting my way. It's time to either get with the program or speak up and get on board.
And get this – holding each other accountable is gold. It's not about pointing fingers when someone messes up, but more like pushing each other to do our best. I'm guilty of letting stuff slide to avoid drama, but now I'm thinking, maybe a little healthy nudge is what the team needs.
Last but not least, results. The big picture stuff. It hit me that individual glory is cool and all, but if the team as a whole isn't killing it, what's the point? So, I'm reevaluating how I contribute to the team's goals, making sure my efforts jive with what we're all trying to achieve together.
Bottom line, this workshop was a game-changer. No fancy suits or uptight presentations, just real talk about how to make teams work like a charm. I'm walking away with this new perspective on trust, conflict, commitment, accountability, and results, and I'm stoked to put these insights into action with my own team.

The Sunday Currently Vol. 5
CURRENTLY
Reading
Scrolling through this Threads feed is really soothing. It's like a throwback to when Twitter was all chill and laid-back. I used to just spill my thoughts without a care, not bothered about who was reading. But man, things took a nasty turn as time went on. The whole vibe got toxic, and I was like, "Nah, I'm out." So, I took a break from the Twitter world for a while.
Writing
Chillin' on this Sunday, kicking it on the current volume of The Sunday Currently for my blog post entry. I had big plans to make this a regular gig for my blog posts, but truth be told, finding time to work on my blogs has been a struggle. Life's just been all over the place.
Listening
Jamming out to the husband's lead guitar strums echoing from his recording studio while I'm working on this blog post.
Thinking
I've been racking my brain about scoring some passive income. Got a bunch of ideas swirling around, but honestly, I'm stuck in decision limbo. Thinking of snagging a coach to help me figure out which road to take.
Smelling
the homemade Strawberry Kisses room and linen spray I whipped up a few months back. Seriously diggin' the way it makes our air-conditioned room smell.
Wishing
Gotta figure out how to turn my money into some sweet passive income or maybe even grow it into valuable assets.
Hoping
to get the final thumbs-up on my kiddo's lab test results. This was round three to rule out that pesky UTI. So relieved to see his health has made major strides from a couple of weeks back. Thank you PapaGod.
Wearing
Rockin' a black Mickey shirt and some cool checkered boxers today
Loving
My heart's full watching the kiddos' excitement as they can't stop blabbering about their day. Super fun Sunday – hit the mall after my youngest one's lab tests. Lunch at Max's rocked! Thrilled to see them both clean their plates and even ask for seconds. Miniso shopping haul after, and then a blast at Tom's World. Avengers and Slam Dunk action figures were the target, but they scored just under 2000 tickets. Their haul? A cool stash of Detective Conan pens, NBA pens, a husky keychain, and a bunch of alphabet erasers. Not too shabby! Next round, champs!
Also diggin' this new supplement drink – it's yogurt with a twist of lemon and cucumber.
Wanting
Trying to wrap my head around our travel plans for this year, but I'm in a totally torn about whether to stash that cash for the business instead.
Needing
Craving a chill spa session right now.
Feeling
Feeling pretty upbeat this week about juggling full-time mom duties with working from home. The kiddo's onto the second week of school, and unlike last year's struggle without any extra hands, I've found a groove. Last school year was a turning point, so fingers crossed for a smoother ride this time around!
Unapologetically You
Your vibes, your quirks, your epic uniqueness – they're all part of the awesome package that is YOU.
True friends? They're like your personal mind-readers, your heart's secret keepers. You don't need to write a user manual for them; they've got your wavelength dialed in!
And those who raise an eyebrow, those who need footnotes and annotations? Guess what? They might need GPS to catch up with your orbit! Don't sweat it, though. You're not here to convince skeptics or win over the doubtful. Your tribe? They're already on your wavelength, dancing to your rhythm.
Time to drop some wisdom: save your breath. Your true friends already get you, no explanation required. And those who doubt? Well, they're on a different planet anyway! Keep shining your awesome self, no justifications needed!
Rock on! Just shine, and let your true friends be your chorus, singing your praises without needing a lyric sheet.

Things to Not Do During Work
Now, I get it – social media is a black hole of hilarious cat videos and epic food fails. But here's the scoop: scrolling through your feeds during work hours is a major no-no. Save the memes for your break or after work. Your boss won't be thrilled to catch you being a meme connoisseur on the company dime.
The internet is a black hole of endless amusement, and we've all fallen into that trap. Stay focused, mama! Don't get lost in a sea of memes and viral videos. Stick to your work like a boss!
Don't let others drag you down.
Sometimes, well-meaning friends or colleagues might share funny links with you. But remember, you're on a mission to get stuff done! Politely avert your eyes and save those giggles for later.
In a corporate setup without bandwidth restrictions, avoid streaming videos or heavy downloads during work hours. Let's not slow down the network for everyone else, right?
Stick to work-related websites.
Resist the urge to online shop, read sports news, or wander into NSFW territory during work hours. Your company may not appreciate it, and some even monitor internet activity. Yikes!
Keep work time for work.
While chatting with coworkers is fun, remember to stay focused on your tasks. Save the office gossip for after hours. You've got goals to crush!
Plan meetings in advance.
Random pop-up meetings can disrupt your flow and waste time. Politely suggest scheduling meetings at mutually convenient times. Your productivity will thank you!

Guardians of Hearts
Have you imagined standing at the entrance of your heart's fortress, and you've got a "no entry" sign for anyone who brings storms instead of sunshine.
Not everyone deserves the privilege of walking through your corridors, flipping through the pages of your emotions. It's like the song says, "I won't let you close enough to hurt me."
Deserters are not getting a free pass to your sacred garden anymore. You're the gatekeeper, and only those who come with respect and sincerity get the VIP tour.
Fortify your emotional castles, bid farewell to those who can't appreciate your worth, and embrace the power of saying "no more" to hurt. Be a castle builder, raise your shields high! Guarded your heart to be hurt no more.

Open Letter to a Social Introvert Me
I know it's not easy dealing with stress and anxiety. It can be a pain in the you-know-what, especially when it comes to social situations. But no fret, I got your back, and I've got some cool tips to help you handle all that craziness.
First things first, let's embrace our introversion like it's a badge of honor! It's what makes us unique, so why hide it? Being an introvert rocks – we've got deep thoughts, creativity, and we're fantastic listeners. Own it, my friend!
Now, listen up: love yourself! You're freakin' awesome just the way you truly are. No need to pretend to be some social butterfly to please others. Be true to yourself, and don't let anyone make you feel less than amazing.
Next, set some boundaries. Don't be afraid to say "no" when you need some alone time. It's crucial to take care of yourself and not let social pressures drain you. You're not a party animal, and that's absolutely fine!
When things get overwhelming, take a chill pill and practice mindfulness. Breathe in, breathe out – it's like magic! Let go of those negative vibes and focus on the present moment. You'll feel more centered and ready to tackle whatever comes your way.
Baby steps, my friend! If big social gatherings make you nervous, start small. Hang out with a few close friends or family members first. As you get more comfortable, you can dip your toes into larger gatherings. It's all about progress, no matter how tiny the steps are.
Seek out those kindred spirits who get you. Surround yourself with like-minded peeps who appreciate your introverted ways. They won't pressure you to be someone you're not, and that's the kind of crew you want to roll with.
Oh, and don't forget your passions and hobbies! They're like therapy for the soul. Dive into what makes you happy, and you'll find joy and potential new friends who share your interests.
If things ever get too overwhelming, don't hesitate to talk to a pro about it. A therapist can help you work through your feelings and provide some wicked cool coping strategies.
So, my awesome introverted friend, remember this: you're a superstar! Embrace your introversion, set those boundaries, and don't let stress and anxiety get the best of you. You've got this, and I'm cheering you on from the introvert corner!
Always rooting for you,
Self

Things to Do During Work
Hey there! Before jumping in to this article. Please make sure you already read Things To do Before Work as it will make more sense. This post is all about productivity tips while you're grinding away at work. It might seem like common sense, but honestly, we all need a friendly reminder now and then.
Check your inboxes, but not obsessively.
You know how it is with emails and messages. Don't keep refreshing your inbox every few seconds. Set specific intervals to check them, so you're not constantly distracted. It's all about keeping that focus, my friend.
Give your inbox a sound notification.
If you can, set up a notification sound for your emails. That way, you won't have to keep checking it every minute. Just wait for the sound, and boom, there's something important waiting for you.
Stay Focused!
No brainer, right? But seriously, concentrate on the task at hand. It's a skill you can build up over time. Train your brain to stay in the zone, and you'll be a productivity wizard.
One thing at a time.
Yeah, our brains can handle a lot, but they work best when you focus on one thing at a time. Multi-tasking might sound cool, but it can lead to mistakes and slow you down. So, tackle one task, then move on.
Get savvy with shortcuts.
Embrace those keyboard shortcuts! They're like magic. Instead of wasting time searching through menus, just hit a few keys, and bam, your work gets done faster. Oh, and check if your keyboard has pre-programmed shortcuts too. That's a productivity jackpot right there.
Nail it on the first try.
Quality over quantity, my friend. Focus on getting it right the first time. When you're not rushing and making mistakes, you'll save yourself from redoing stuff. That's real productivity, right there.
Find your peak performance time.
Everyone has that golden hour when they're at their best. Know yours and crush the difficult tasks during that time. Save the easier stuff for later.
Take notes, don't rely on memory.
Your brain's amazing, but it's not perfect. Jot down important info so you can access it when needed. It's like decluttering your mind.
Save chit-chats for meetings.
Don't wander around bothering your coworkers with work stuff. Save it for the meetings. That's when you can ask questions and sort things out. Plus, more meetings mean better communication.
Clear your mind and take deep breaths.
No need for Zen magic here. Just pause, take deep breaths, and clear your head. It'll help you de-stress and refocus.
Stretch it out!
Stretching isn't slacking off. It's actually good for you. It relieves stress and makes your brain more efficient. So, take those breaks and stretch away.
Don't delay communication tasks.
Keep the communication flowing. Respond to emails and messages ASAP. Your team will appreciate it, and it keeps everyone on track.
Close those distractions!
No farming or fish-feeding during work time. Close all those non-work-related windows and apps. Focus, my friend, focus!
Bookmark your lifesavers.
Save useful websites in bookmarks for easy access. When you find something handy, bookmark it. It'll save you time in the future.
Keep those bookmarks organized.
Organize those bookmarks, dude! Categorize them to find what you need faster. And ditch the old ones you don't use anymore.
Prioritize like a pro.
Tasks piling up? Prioritize them based on urgency and importance. Knock out the important stuff first and handle the rest later.
Guard your computer with an antivirus.
Don't let viruses mess with your flow. Get a solid antivirus program, and you're good to go.
Scan before opening files.
Scan any files you download or get from others. Safety first, folks!
Keep that antivirus up-to-date.
Update your antivirus regularly to stay ahead of new threats. You don't want to be caught off-guard.
Keep your personal info private.
Protect your personal and financial data online. Read privacy agreements and double-check websites for security.
Less is more with open windows.
Closing unnecessary windows helps your computer run smoothly. Don't overload it with stuff you don't need.
Save your work often.
No auto-save? No problem. Save your work regularly to avoid losing it all in a crash.
Get a UPS or ask for one.
A UPS can save your work during power outages. Trust me, it's a lifesaver.
Backup, backup, backup!
Backups are productivity's best friend. Regularly save your files in safe places.
Keep track of those backups.
Don't get lost in a sea of backups. Maintain a list of what's in each backup file.
Record important info.
Record daily stuff that matters. It helps with accountability and performance monitoring.
Maintain your computer.
You don't need IT for everything. Do your part by deleting unnecessary files and defragging.
Set priorities like a boss.
Organize tasks based on priority. Take care of high-priority items first.
No more procrastination.
Don't delay tasks you can do now. Get stuff done and avoid unnecessary stress later.
Be seen as a manager.
Supervisors, make your presence felt. Take a walk around and check in on your team. It keeps them focused and productive.
Boost productivity with contests.
Managers, spice things up with contests and prizes. It'll get everyone fired up and working their best.
Spread the word.
Communicate important info promptly. No need to hold back on vital instructions.
Keep schedules up-to-date.
Stay on top of changes and update your schedules and reminders accordingly.
Be a team player.
Maintain good relationships with your colleagues. A harmonious workplace is a more productive one. A smile goes a long way!
You've got this! Be productive, stay focused, and slay your workday! 🚀 Work Less, Accomplish More.
